NMS centrifugal pump family grows
In response to market demands, pump specialist Calpeda has significantly expanded its NMS series of centrifugal electric pumps, introducing smaller powers than those already available.
The NMS series has increased from 200 to 630 items. All sizes of the corresponding one-piece, two and 4-pole, 50 and 60Hz versions from DN 32 to DN 150 are now available. As a result, Calpeda can now offer its NMS solution to a complete range of applications, from large industrial plants to smaller ones.
Being normalised pumps, the NMS series has pump casings with axial suction and radial delivery on top, designed to maintain dimensions and performance per EN 733.
The stub shaft construction ensures the widest freedom of motor choice. NMS pumps can be coupled with standard IE3 motors, specialist IE4 motors, and motors that comply with the American and Canadian UL-CSA standards. This has resulted in a very versatile product in terms of efficiency classes and compatibility with international standards.
According to Calpeda, the integrated thrust bearing is a distinguishing feature of NMS centrifugal pumps, compared with other stub-shaft construction pumps on the market. This design feature makes the pump perfectly balanced in terms of its axial thrust.
As a result, no additional dimensioning is required to calculate the surcharge to be applied to the motor bearing to ensure optimal product operation. The thrust bearing on the coupling supports the hydraulic thrust of the pump, allowing no additional loads to be generated on the motor bearings and helping preserve their operational life.
