Rapid valve delivery prevents wastewater treatment plant shutdown

A wastewater treatment plant in Barrow-in-Furness avoided a potentially disruptive shutdown after T-T Flow supplied replacement swing check valves within three hours of receiving an urgent request.
The plant needed the valves at short notice to maintain operations, but standard delivery lead times were too long to meet the site’s requirements.
With the required valves available from existing stock, T-T Flow was able to respond immediately, arranging a dedicated courier to collect the products and deliver them directly to the site.
The valves supplied were T-T Flow metal-seated swing check valves, designed to prevent backflow in gravity-fed and pumped systems handling surface water, wastewater, sewage and potable water.
Manufactured to EN1074-3, the valves are rated to 16 bar and hydraulically tested to EN12266. They also hold WRAS and Regulation 4 approval and comply with DWI Regulation 31.
The valves arrived at the treatment works within three hours of the initial call, allowing the site to remain fully operational and avoiding the need for a shutdown.
The case highlights the importance of product availability and responsive logistics when dealing with urgent maintenance requirements at critical wastewater infrastructure.
