New KIWA KUK Reg 4 approved pressure sensors and WRAS solenoid valves

Total Pressure Solutions has launched a new range of KIWA KUK Reg 4 approved pressure sensors, and WRAS approved solenoid valves, designed to support customers working with potable water and drinking water applications across the UK.

The new range includes pressure sensors and pressure transmitters, available in variations from vacuum up to 40 bar, alongside WRAS approved solenoid valves with servo-assisted diaphragm technology.

This latest range of pressure sensors has achieved KIWA KUK Regulation 4 Approval, giving customers confidence that the products are suitable for use in potable water applications across the UK.

Regulation 4, formerly WRAS Regulation 4, demonstrates that products intended for contact with drinking water comply with the requirements of the UK Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations. Independent testing by KIWA confirms that approved products will not adversely affect water quality or introduce contaminants into the potable water supply.

The new TPS pressure transmitters are designed to provide accurate and dependable pressure measurement for potable water systems and drinking water applications.

Suitable for a wide range of water pressure monitoring duties, the pressure transmitters can be used within applications such as pump control, filtration systems, water treatment equipment, process skids and general plant monitoring.

The compact design supports stable performance in industrial environments, making the range suitable for both new installations and replacement requirements.

The TPS pressure transmitter range is available in pressure variations from vacuum up to 40 bar, with options to suit different measurement requirements. WRAS approved sensors are also available for OEM-specific projects.

The TPS pressure transmitters feature a high-stability piezoresistive sensing element with a dedicated conditioning circuit, providing reliable current or voltage signal outputs including 4–20mA, 0–10V, 0–5V, 1–5V and 0.5–4.5V.

The sensors are available with gauge, absolute, sealed gauge and positive/negative pressure options, with an IP65-rated compact design, multiple process connections and electrical connection choices including 4-pin connector, cable and M12 x 1 connector options.

The range is also KIWA certified for drinking water applications, providing further confidence for customers specifying products for potable water systems.

WRAS approved solenoid valves

TPS has also added a range of WRAS approved solenoid valves with servo-assisted diaphragm construction.

Available in both normally closed and normally open options, the valves provide reliable control of water flow across a wide range of potable water applications. The range includes multiple valve sizes, from smaller 1/4” options through to larger 2” valves, helping customers select the right product for their system requirements.

The valves feature a low-lead brass body and cover, stainless steel internal components and WRAS approved EPDM seal materials. Key technical features include a minimum differential pressure of 0.15 bar, maximum allowable pressure of 25 bar and an ambient temperature range from -10°C to +80°C, depending on the coil selected.

The solenoid valve range gives customers flexibility when selecting the right valve for their application.

Normally closed valves remain closed when de-energised and open when power is applied. Normally open valves operate in the opposite way, remaining open until energised.

This allows engineers, OEMs and maintenance teams to specify the most suitable valve arrangement depending on the required system operation or fail-safe position.

To make specification and installation simpler, the solenoid valves can also be supplied with compatible coils and connectors.

Options include coils for different valve sizes, with additional voltages available on request. TPS can also provide suitable connectors, including IP69K options and LED connector versions, with standard cable lengths available in 1, 3 and 5m.

TPS will be adding further WRAS-approved products to the range soon, including submersible level sensors for potable water applications.
