Pumping station is a safe bet for racecourse

When Worcester Racecourse needed a pumping station to support its newly-built weighing room, it required a solution that would get the facility up and running quickly without disrupting the busy race schedule. The chosen solution from T-T Pumps fit the bill perfectly.

Ensuring a clean, reliable, and efficient foul water management system for Worcester Racecourse was not only a functional requirement, but it was a necessity to maintain the seamless running of race days.

The newly constructed weighing room was in an area outside the reach of the existing gravity-fed drainage system, posing a potential risk to the construction schedule and long-term infrastructure plans.

With major events already on the calendar, the racecourse needed a fast, reliable, and regulation-compliant pumping solution, robust and reliable for such a prestigious venue.

A Saturn Package Pumping Station from T-T Pumps, complete with two of T-T’s DGG250/2/80 vortex solids handling pumps – part of the company’s BBA-certified Planet Range, which is custom-designed for precisely this kind of scenario – was installed to lift foul water safely and efficiently from the new weighing room to the existing drainage infrastructure.

The Saturn chamber is made from virgin-grade, medium-density polyethylene, hydrostatically tested for below-ground installation, and pre-assembled with internal ductile iron pipe work and Aquaflow Valves.

The DGG250/2/80 pump design, cast iron in construction, complete with a vortex impeller for free solids passage, minimises pump blockages and is from the same range of pumps that T-T installs on housing developments throughout the UK, due to their trusted reliability and performance.

The pumping station was commissioned on time and without complications, allowing the racecourse to maintain its packed event calendar without a hitch.
