New horizontal multistage submersible sump pumps for water transfer and boosting applications for buildings

EKKI, a specialist in open well sump submersible pump technologies, has launched the Hori-Max range of horizontal multistage submersible sump pumps. The company says that the launch unveils a breakthrough product line designed to redefine performance, efficiency, and reliability in water transfer and boosting applications for buildings.
Engineered for demanding applications across residential and commercial buildings, infrastructure developments, public utilities, and agricultural operations, the Hori-Max range will be available in three series: Hori-Max S, Hori-Max SVR, and Hori-Max M.
The range combines a multistage horizontal design with precision-engineered components to deliver consistent pressure, high efficiency, and dependable operation. Built for modern water management needs, the pumps feature high-efficiency FG 250 cast-iron diffusers and precision-designed impellers, and are also available in corrosion-resistant CF8 stainless-steel variants, to offer superior hydraulic performance and long service life.
The Hori-Max series is able to operate effectively in shallow water conditions, with pumping capability from water levels as low as 1.5 feet. This is enabled by a specially engineered suction system with bronze bushings that ensures smooth intake, reduced turbulence, and optimised flow even at ultra-low water levels.
The pumps also incorporate zinc-plated heavy-duty eye bolts, industrial-grade SS 304 fasteners, and an anti-corrosion aluminium die-cast rotor paired with an SS420 shaft. Together, these features have been designed to enhance structural strength, resist corrosion, and ensure stable long-term operation even in demanding environments.
The pumps’ motor is built for continuous performance, featuring water-cooled Class B insulated windings that provide efficient heat dissipation and reliable S1 duty operation. This is complemented by a service-friendly three-piece motor architecture with a pressure-equalising diaphragm, enabling easy maintenance while ensuring optimal internal protection and cooling.
The series includes high-flex 3-core copper cables with water-resistant PVC sheathing for improved flexibility and conductivity, along with a rubber-sealed grommet system that provides leak-proof cable sealing and effective sand protection. Durable LTB-4 bronze bushes and high-strength carbon thrust bearings ensure smooth, low-friction operation and superior load handling, even in abrasive or heavy-duty conditions.
To provide stability and operational smoothness, the pumps are equipped with dual heavy-duty fabricated base plates that minimise vibration and provide strong ground support. Additional features such as laser-cut stainless steel suction strainers for debris protection and precision-machined discharge flanges with BSP threads for leak-free connections have been designed to further reinforce the product’s robustness.
