Turbine pumps support SWRO facility

To support the development of a new seawater desalination facility in Western Australia, Ruhrpumpen is delivering two Horizontal Turbine Pumps (HTP 12B-75) engineered for demanding captive SWRO desalination service.
Featuring a seven-stage hydraulic design, each unit operates at 3,475 rpm, delivers 298m³/h, and is driven by 597kW motors, providing the high-pressure performance required upstream of the reverse osmosis process for stable, continuous operation.
In captive SWRO desalination systems, pumping reliability directly impacts plant availability and energy efficiency. The selected HTP solution ensures a dependable high-pressure seawater supply, minimises downtime through robust mechanical design, withstands aggressive marine environments, and supports long-term, climate-resilient water production.
By combining proven hydraulic performance with advanced materials and application-focused engineering, Ruhrpumpen can deliver pumping solutions aligned with the operational realities of modern desalination plants, helping operators secure water availability while optimising lifecycle costs.
